VytaFlex 40
Product Code:SORVF40G
Using Smooth-On’s exclusive “V-Polymer” technology, VytaFlex urethane rubbers offer superior physical and performance properties for casting concrete. Work especially well for casting pigmented / colored concrete (will render accurate and uniform colored castings and a consistent surface finish every time). Known for its resistance and tear strength, VytaFlex is proven to hold up to the rigors of casting concrete everyday. The versatility and durability of the Vytaflex rubber molds will allow to maximize the full benefits of using Forton VF-774 in GFRC to produce custom architectural elements. Vacuum degassing is not necessary and cure with negligible shrinkage to a durable rubber that will last in production and offer a long-term stability.
A release agent (Universal Mold Release) is necessary to facilitate demolding when casting into or over most surfaces. Models made of porous materials (gypsum plasters, concrete, wood, stone, etc...), must be sealed (use SuperSeal, or One Step for detailed pieces) prior to applying a release agent. Sonite Wax or Shellac is suitable for rough contours and a high quality shellac for sealing modeling clays that contain sulfur or moisture (water based) or thermoplastics (polystyrene). Non-porous surfaces, like metal, glass, hard plastics, sulfur free clays, etc..., require only a release agent. If using as a mold material to pour concrete, In& Out II is recommended for releasing.
