SP211-Speckled Blue Yonder
Product Code:1MPSP211
A heavily pigmented, viscous product that can be used for brush strokes or opaque coverage. Can be used to create intricate, detailed designs and butt up to one another without colors moving. When used in a majolica process, will not move nor blend with the colors beneath. Speckled Stroke & Coat colors are intermixable, allowing artists to create custom shades. Thin with water or media to create a “wash” or watercolor style of design. Because the liquid color is consistent with the fired color, artists will have no trouble visualizing finished results as they create.
Three-coat coverage is generally opaque and gloss finish. However, some colors do not fire as shiny as others; therefore, Clear Glaze is recommended. Speckled Stroke & Coat must be stilted when they are applied to the bottom of a piece, whether glazed or not. (If not, pieces could stick to the kiln shelf during firing).
ON THE LEFT:
Cone: 06 (fired flat, in oxidation, on white earthenware body)
Finish: One coat will create a translucent finish with subsequent coats adding opacity. Three coats will give full opacity.
Dinnerware Safe: Yes (If covered with a dinnerware safe glaze)
BELOW:
Cone: 6 (fired flat, in oxidation, on white stoneware body)
Finish: Semi-transparent. Color slightly lightens. Specks remain the same.
